Parent Consults
Parent consultations are a structured form of psychological support offered to parents and caregivers who have concerns about their child’s development, behavior, or emotional well-being. These consultations are designed to help adults better understand their child’s needs and to identify practical strategies that support the child’s development in a responsive and evidence-informed manner.

A typical consultation process may include:

-
Session 1: Initial Parent Meeting (1 hour)
An opportunity for the psychologist to gather background information, understand the caregiver’s concerns, and explore the child’s developmental, emotional, and behavioral history. -
Session 2: Child Observation (0.5-1 hour)
When appropriate, the psychologist may observe and interact briefly with the child to better understand how they engage with others and respond to their environment. This helps inform individualized recommendations. -
Session 3: Follow-Up Parent Sessions (1 hour)
These sessions provide time to review observations, discuss progress, adjust strategies, and respond to emerging questions or challenges. The number of sessions can vary depending on caregiver needs and goals.
